Thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural season of The QB Club.
As we wrap up Season One, we want to thank our early participants and beta testers for helping us bring this pilot league to life. While the NFL may be entering its off-season, The QB Club is not slowing down. We have several exciting developments planned in the weeks ahead.
Recapping the Super Bowl
A game dominated by defense ultimately proved somewhat anti-climactic — both for the contest itself and for QB Club participants.
Unfortunately, no one claimed the Drake Maye NFT prior to kickoff. As a result, despite Drake Maye outscoring Sam Darnold in fantasy points (even with three turnovers), the Sam Darnold NFT holder secured the final prize of the season.
MVP Outcome
Kenneth Walker III was named the game’s MVP following a dominant performance from the Seahawks’ running back.
Because the MVP award did not go to a quarterback, the $QBC allocated for that payout has been returned to the league’s Prize Vault, in accordance with league rules.
Pilot League Summary
Our pilot league concludes the year in an exceptionally healthy and sustainable position:
- A total of 44 NFTs were minted
- 24 NFTs were claimed through beta testers or via the Magic Eden marketplace
- 20 NFTs were activated for QB Club competition
- Four NFTs were unexpectedly burned and may be re-issued in the future
The league’s Prize Vault was initially seeded with 10 million $QBC. During the season, nearly 5% of the vault was paid out to participants. Thanks to replenishment from new NFT sales, the Prize Vault ended the season with more $QBC than it began with, positioning the league well for future seasons.
What’s Coming Next
Internal discussions have generated several exciting ideas for expansion and experimentation, including:
- Expanding football NFT collections into new leagues, such as RB Club and WR Club
- Hosting off-season, live-streamed Madden-based competitions using future NFTs or house-owned $QBC as prizes
- Expanding into baseball with hitting and pitching leagues
- Launching a weekly update on X using Spaces
