Beta-testing expansion was pushed one more week, so we rolled into Week 7 with our standard 8-QB lineup. Functionally this was really six, with Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen on byes. Opportunity knocked for someone else to step up.
We watched as Aaron Rodgers threw 4 TD’s on Thursday. This effort was then usurped by Matt Stafford, who threw for five in the Sunday morning London game. Neither Rodgers nor Stafford have been claimed yet in The QB Club world.
The early games saw Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes put up 30.04 and 32.24 points respectively. Were we looking at yet another Patrick Mahomes weekly victory? He was positioned to take his 3rd win over the last four weeks, but…
Not so fast! Justin Herbert, in the late games, showed up to play, throwing for over 400 yards! Herbert would take the lead with 33.9 points into the Monday night games.
Many expected Mayfield vs. Goff to be a barn-burner, but it was not to be. A shootout it was not, with both QB’s putting up less-than-impressive sub-15 point totals. And just like that… Justin Herbert adds his name to the Weekly Winners list.
