Another crazy week in The QB Club – from Thursday Night Through Monday!
THURSDAY NIGHT
The week got started with a barn-burner. The Lions beat the Cowboys by a 44-30 margin. Now, you’d think that would mean a lot of TDs for Jared Goff, but he would only throw for 1, putting up only 18.16 fantasy points. Jahmyr Gibbs would keep a lot of the points for himself, rushing for 3 TDs on the night.
SUNDAY FOOTBALL
Predictably, Goff’s lead would not last long. Notably, the top 2 QBs this week squared off in Buffalo with Josh Allen putting up his 3rd 40+ point game of the season, taking a commanding lead for the week. Joe Burrow played well in the loss, putting up 31.36 points on the day, taking second place for the week.
There were a plethora of impressive fantasy point totals on the board Sunday – Stafford, Darnold, McCarthy, Love, Rodgers, and Lamar Jackson all put up 20+ points, but the day ended with Allen on top, and little hope that anyone would catch him.
MONDAY NIGHT
There may have been a small glimmer of hope that Justin Herbert might catch Josh Allen early on in the Monday Night Football match-up, but that hope would be dashed pretty much by halftime, and Herbert would struggle to put up numbers most of the evening.
The spotlight was on Jalen Hurts though, as he set a record for futility – throwing an interception and then fumbling on THE SAME PLAY! Something that had never happened before. Mistakes, drops, poor throws, some untimely penalties, and a staunch Chargers defense would hold Hurts to a season-low 0.4 fantasy points. Overtime couldn’t even help Jalen post a full fantasy point on this night.
SEASON UPDATES
Week 14 vaulted Josh Allen into the season point-total lead, now with almost a 40-point lead on second place Patrick Mahomes.
Allen’s game was the third-highest single game point total of the season. He hits the Top 3 list replacing… HIMSELF! This means Josh Allen has put up 3 of the top 4 fantasy league performances in The QB Club this season. Only Jared Goff is still in the mix with his 43.96-point Week 2 performance.
Jalen Hurts really hurt his chances with his 0.4 point night, and is now in third place overall for the season. Jared Goff and Justin Herbert are in striking distance for that third-place spot.
SEASON STATISTICS
Patrick Mahomes has a 64-yard cushion on Jared Goff in the passing yards department. Josh Allen, Jordan Love and Justin Herbert will be fighting it out for that third place position.
Despite only 1 passing touchdown this week, Jared Goff maintains the lead with 26 TD passes on the season. Herbert, Allen, Mahomes, and Love all have 22.
Josh Allen took a commanding lead in the rushing department, 70 yards ahead of Justin Herbert.
