What an incredibly exciting week 16 to the NFL season and for The QB Club. One great performance, eclipsed by another, and then another!
THURSDAY NIGHT
Thursday night’s Rams vs Seahawks match-up was all that it was billed to be, and more! Two playoff-bound teams and two QB Club quarterbacks going at it! Stafford and Darnold!
The game went to overtime and though the Seahawks would ultimately take the victory, it was Matt Stafford who would put up the fantasy numbers. Three touchdowns and over 450 yards passing helped Stafford accumulate 36.88 points for what seemed like a fairly solid lead heading into the weekend.
SUNDAY
After Patrick Mahomes went down for the season, the bad luck would spread across three more QB Club players – JJ McCarthy, Lamar Jackson and Jordan Love would all leave their games early. We hope they recover soon!
After some strong play in recent weeks, setting himself up on the top of the season leaderboard, Josh Allen had a dud against Cleveland, putting up just 6.9 points.
Of all people, it was Joe Burrow who stepped forward to snatch the lead from Stafford. Coming off a poor showing in Week 15, Burrow threw four touchdowns and went for over 300 yards gave him 36.96 points – just 0.08 more than Stafford, but enough for the lead!
THE GIVEAWAY
Last week, we decided that we’d try something new and GIVE AWAY the Trevor Lawrence NFT. Coming off a tremendously strong game in week 15, what an exciting thing for someone to win. Of course, we never thought Lawrence would post back-to-back victories!
Our contest garnered over 1500 entries, far more than we expected. Unfortunately, not all of these were real, and it became difficult for us to locate a winner. Many entries were spam and the emails were not valid.
Finally, we were able to find one, but by the time we were able to get him the NFT, the games had already started. Wouldn’t you know… four TDs and 37.16 fantasy points later… Lawrence took the weekly lead from Burrow.
Since the winner had not had the chance to “opt-in” for $QBC rewards, we will still payout Joe Burrow as the winner from our Prize Wallet. However, once the Trevor Lawrence owner opts-in for $QBC rewards, we will also pay him out of our Dev Wallet.
