A wild playoff weekend this week saw two overtime finishes, a first half 4-INT performance, and a major injury that no one saw happen!
TWO-THIRDS AIN’T BAD
Of the 8 QBs to take the field this weekend, only three had been activated by QB CLUB NFT holders – Stafford, Darnold and Allen. The rest are still unclaimed and available at our Magic Eden marketplace.
Go figure – of the three active quarterbacks, it would be the one who lost who would put up the best fantasy point total. And it wasn’t even close!
Josh Allen’s Bills lost an overtime thriller… with many questionable calls, especially near the end. It’s hard to blame the officials though when your QB commits 4 turnovers on the day – even though his last INT was hardly his fault. As so often we see in fantasy football, the touchdowns overshadow the turnovers, and Allen’s three TD passes helped him put up a total of 27.92 points. Admittedly, that is more consolation for the Allen NFT-owner than it must be for Bills fans.
While Allen packs his bags for the offseason, Sam Darnold’s Seahawks completely dismantled the 49ers. However, it was Kenneth Walker III leading the way with 3 rushing TDs. Darnold did throw one, but with a big early lead there was not much more he had to do to secure victory. Darnold managed the game to an impressive victory, but his 10.96 pts were no match for Josh Allen.
That left Matt Stafford and the Rams, who were up against the Chicago Bears and the cold weather in Soldier Field. An MVP candidate (though Maye seems to have eclipsed him in the late weeks), we expected Stafford to challenge Allen for the top spot this week.
Even though the Rams were able to pull out a 20-17 overtime victory in a very exciting game, Stafford ended the day with pedestrian numbers, including zero passing TDs. His 10.22 fantasy points were not enough to overcome Allen’s totals. However, the Rams will be moving forward facing the Seahawks.
Of the remaining non-activated QBs, Drake Maye threw three TD passes leading to the Pats to victory over the Texans. CJ Stroud, on the other hand, would likely want to forget his day. Stroud threw FOUR picks in the first half of the Texans loss.
The Broncos, who defeated the Bills, were led by three TD passes from their sophomore QB Bo Nix. Afterwards, it was revealed that Nix fractured his ankle near the end of the game. Even though the Broncos are moving on to the Championship Round, they will be doing so with Jarrett Stidham, who is not currently an NFT at The QB Club.
Brock Purdy was unable to do much against the Seahawks defense, as the 49ers would only score 6 total points, both on Eddy Pineiro field goals.
Lastly, Caleb Williams threw 2 touchdowns, including an incredible one to Cole Kmet at the end of regulation. Unfortunately, an overtime INT on a throw to DJ Moore (whose effort on the play was questionable) led to the Rams field goal that sealed the game.
Two out of three QB Club QBs will move on and play each other next week – Stafford vs Darnold. Drake Maye continues to be available on the Magic Eden marketplace. A solid MVP candidate with a long career ahead of him, Maye is a steal – especially given that the NFT is tokenized ownership of his 2025 Rookie Card.
THREE OUT OF FOUR IS EVEN BETTER
Messing around on our X account, The QB Club predicted three of the four playoff games correctly, only missing out on the Bills (who lost in OT). Keep an eye out for next week’s predictions coming soon!
