Draft Day at The QB Club: Or, How We Wrestled the Blockchain for 48 Hours Straight

Day One of the NFL Draft has come and gone.

Every year it delivers exactly what it promises. Surprises. Bold moves. Confident predictions. Confusing predictions. And at least one fan base already convinced they just drafted a future legend.

Here at The QB Club, Draft Weekend delivered something else too:

The launch of League #02 — The RB Club.

Or, more accurately…

The attempt to launch it.
Then the relaunch.
Then the troubleshooting.
Then the negotiation phase.
Then a polite conversation with Magic Eden that sounded a lot like, “We already got a QBC… sorry, pal.”

The Plan (Simple. Elegant. Foolproof.)

The vision was straightforward:

Release The RB Club
Expand the QBC universe
Prepare Season Zero rewards
Ride Draft Weekend momentum like professionals

Instead, the blockchain looked at us and said:

“That’s adorable.”

The Symbol Situation

Our original collection uses the symbol:

QBC

Perfect.
Clean.
On-brand.

But when we introduced a second league, the marketplace made it clear that QBC already existed and was not interested in becoming two separate things at once.

Which, in hindsight, pushed us toward something better anyway.

So instead of splitting collections apart, we leaned into a stronger structure:

One unified QB Club ecosystem with multiple leagues inside it.

Exactly where we wanted to be all along.

The Great Re-Mint of League #02

Of course, before we got there, we did what every calm and experienced blockchain operator eventually has to do at least once.

We burned the entire first batch.

Professionally.

Quietly.

Without making eye contact.

Then we rebuilt the Running Back collection from scratch, added league identifiers, cleaned up the metadata, and sent the new class back onto the field.

Every RB NFT now includes:

  • a serial number
  • league identification
  • player name

Clean. Organized. Searchable. Ready for competition.

Which is when we noticed something strange.

Magic Eden showed 58 running backs instead of 63.

Naturally.

The Five Missing Running Backs 🏃‍♂️

For a brief moment we considered whether five players had collectively wandered off during introductions.

Instead, they were simply fashionably late to the collection page.

Their individual profiles were already live.
Their images were ready.
Their metadata checked out.

They just had not joined the team photo yet.

Typical running back behavior, honestly.

Draft Weekend Momentum Is Real

While the league reshaped rosters across the country, The QB Club quietly reshaped its own structure behind the scenes.

League #02 is now live.

Season Zero rewards are ready to move.

Future leagues are already warming up.

And the collection itself is evolving from a single-position experiment into something much bigger.

Not just a set of NFTs.

A growing fantasy ecosystem built one position at a time.

What Comes Next

Over the next few days we will:

  • distribute Season Zero rewards
  • highlight standout performances from the simulation bracket
  • take a closer look at the newest members of the RB Club
  • and continue preparing the next expansion of The QB Club universe

Draft Weekend was only the beginning.

The season starts now.

One block at a time, we keep the chains moving. 🏈⛓️
