Another Competition in the Books

The Summer Sim was our second major Madden simulation event following Season Zero and another opportunity to put QB Club ownership into action.

That continues to be one of the ideas behind The QB Club: the football card doesn’t simply sit in a collection. The Player NFT can become part of competitions, simulations and other events throughout the year.

The Summer Sim may have flown a little under the radar, but the games still delivered some surprises. Lamar Jackson ultimately proved to be the toughest quarterback in the field, while Bryce Young put together a run all the way to the championship game.

Caleb Williams and Jordan Love rounded out the Final Four.

Cinderella Runs Highlight the Early Rounds

One of the things that brought a bit of excitement to the Sim was the upset victories. In the first three games, Kyle McCord’s Eagles defeated Matt Stafford’s Rams, Riley Leonard’s Colts beat Joe Burrow’s Bengals, and Will Howard’s Steelers bested Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs.

Little by little, the underdogs would fall. McCord lost to Howard in Round 2, while Leonard continued his march defeating the Super Bowl Champion Seahawks. The Cinderella stories would end there as Caleb Williams would ultimately defeat Will Howard and Jordan Love took care of Riley Leonard.

Prizes – Another Way to Build a Collection

Summer Sim winners earned prizes for their tournament finishes, and we’ve been contacting the NFT owners individually to arrange their awards.

We’ve also seen another interesting phenomenon, as all four winners chose to take use their winnings to purchase additional QB Club NFTs!

We like that.

It keeps the reward connected to the collecting side of The QB Club and gives owners another opportunity to expand their roster.

Most TD Passes in a Game

A bonus prize was given for the QB who threw the most TD passes in the Summer Sim. We will be paying these winners out shortly. We expected one or two QBs would have standout performances and separate themselves in the bonus category. Instead, the magic number turned out to be 3 TD passes. That mark was established in the very first game when both Matthew Stafford and Kyle McCord hit the number.

Other quarterbacks piled on, creating a fairly large number of 3-TD Pass Performances – JJ McCarthy, Bryce Young, Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield all hit the mark. Jordan Love did it twice!

Seems like maybe 6-minute quarters just isn’t enough to get anyone in position for that 4th TD pass. Also, there were many strong running backs, stealing passing touchdowns from their QBs.

The top prize was 250,000 $QBC, the official QB Club game token. That prize will be split 7 ways and distributed in the coming days. Jordan Love will receive two shares for accomplishing the feat twice.

What’s Next?

The Summer Sim is finished, but there is plenty ahead.

The NFL season will bring the return of fantasy scoring across the QB, RB, WR and TE Clubs, along with weekly competitions, prize pools and more opportunities for Player NFTs to participate.

Vault Boosts will also continue adding physical football cards to eligible Player NFT collections.

And with a new football card release approaching, we’re preparing something different: a live Mint Break, where rookie cards pulled from sealed boxes may become the physical cards behind brand-new QB Club NFTs.

The Summer Sim is another chapter in what we’re building.

One block at a time, we keep the chains moving.
