A wild Week 15 in the NFL saw some lead changes, some missed opportunities, and some awful injuries heading into the final three weeks of the season.
THURSDAY NIGHT
Thursday night’s match-up was a crazy finish resulting in a Falcons win. The Bucs put 28 points on the scoreboard and Baker Mayfield had a respectable 23.18 fantasy points. With a dozen QBs left to play, there was pretty much no chance that would hold up.
SUNDAY’S DAY GAMES
It was another week of some very solid fantasy point totals, with just one dud (under-10 points) – Joe Burrow had only 5.5 fantasy points.
A familiar name among the weekly leaders of late, Josh Allen, came from behind to beat the Patriots while putting up 30.52 fantasy points. Jalen Hurts was just a few points behind.
Then the late games arrived and Jared Goff put up a good fight in a 41-34 loss to the Rams. Goff’s 31.52 points was 1 more than Allen, and he took the lead.
SUNDAY & MONDAY NIGHTS
There were still two QBs in the game at that point, JJ McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers. Though these two have not had a proclivity for large fantasy point outbursts this season, the 31.52 bar seemed a bit low. It was anybody’s game.
McCarthy stormed out of the gate with a solid first half, on pace to take the lead. However, his scoring totals dimmed in the second half as the Vikings still beat the Cowboys. McCarthy went on to post 27.5 fantasy points – a good showing, but not enough to go ahead.
Rodgers, too, showed a glimpse of potential. After a quiet first half, he hit Marquez Valdes-Scantling and DK Metcalf for two TDs in the third quarter. But that would be all the TD scoring for him this night in their 28-15 takedown of the Dolphins. Rodgers ended the day with 20.96 fantasy points.
This left Jared Goff as our winner for the second time this season.
MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
We can’t help but wonder… what might have been.
Against the Packers, Bo Nix put up 37+ fantasy points! He is unowned and still available in the Magic Eden Marketplace.
Perhaps even more upsetting was Trevor Lawrence, who had the game of his life against the hapless Jets defense. Lawrence threw for 5 TDs and ran for one, on his way to a 54 fantasy point outburst! Not only would that have won the week, but it would have put Lawrence on the top of the leaderboard for best 1-day fantasy performance of the season! Lawrence is also still available at the Magic Eden Marketplace.

SUPERSTARS DOWN
Out of all the action in the league this past week, perhaps the most newsworthy were the season-ending injuries to Patrick Mahomes and Micah Parsons. While the Chiefs had officially been eliminated from the playoffs, Mahomes was still very much in the running for some statistical categories – especially at The QB Club.
With 3 weeks left, there are a few quarterbacks that will have a little more time in the pocket without Parsons breathing down their necks.
SEASON LEADERS
Josh Allen has a commanding lead in the overall point total. He’s in first place by 55 points, but Mahomes is in second and will surely lose his top-3 placement over the remaining weeks. Jalen Hurts is in third place, 70 points behind Allen. Jared Goff is just 3.5 points behind Hurts, in what may prove to be the more exciting battle down the stretch.
Jared Goff has the QB Club lead in both Passing Yards (3,672) and TD passes (29). Discounting Mahomes, Jordan Love (3,304) and Josh Allen (3,276) are perhaps a bit too far back to catch Goff. Justin Herbert (3,191) is the only other QB Club QB over 3,000 yards this season.
Allen is also in second place for TD passes (25). Herbert and Love each have 23, while Mayfield and Hurts have 22. It’s still a race.
Josh Allen is pulling away in terms of rushing yards (535). Herbert (417), Hurts (376) and Lamar Jackson (333) are all quite a ways back from catching him.
Lastly, there were no changes in the highest 1-week totals this week. Josh Allen still leads with 48.68 points from week 11, Jared Goff’s 43.96 points in week 2, and Josh Allen in third place with 43.84 points.
AWARD WINNERS
The QB Club also pays $QBC awards for things like MVP-winners and Pro-Bowl selections.
Recently activated in The QB Club, Matthew Stafford has a fairly commanding lead on the MVP race, with Polymarket showing him as a 69.5% chance of winning. Drake Maye (unowned) and Josh Allen are still in-the-mix, with Sam Darnold a fleeting whisper.
Stafford, Maye and Allen have all likely locked up Pro Bowl selections. After that, it’s anybody’s guess. Personally, I like Goff and Darnold in the NFC. In the AFC, I’d have to say Bo Nix (also unowned) grabs that third spot.
What do you think?
