Official Rules
Season Zero represents the first simulation of The QB Club following the live beta testing that occurred during the 2025 NFL season. This season is designed to reward early participants, test the competitive format, and distribute a limited number of NFTs tied to competitive performance.
The following rules govern the operation of Season Zero.
1. Eligibility
Participation in Season Zero requires ownership of an official QB Club NFT.
A QB Club NFT must be purchased and activated prior to the completion of Round One in order to be eligible for inclusion in the competition.
Each eligible NFT represents one quarterback entry into the competition.
Each NFT may only compete once in Round One.
2. Competition Structure
Season Zero consists of two phases:
Phase One — Round One (Universal Challenge)
Phase Two — Final Eight Tournament
The format is designed to allow all participating NFTs to compete while efficiently determining a champion.
3. Round One – Universal Challenge
In Round One, each eligible QB Club NFT will play one simulated game against the New York Jets.
This opponent is used for all participants to provide a consistent and comparable baseline.
Each NFT receives:
- One game
- One score
- No replays or re-simulations
Scores from Round One determine advancement into the tournament stage.
4. Round One Schedule
Round One games will begin March 12.
Games will be conducted via livestream and/or recorded broadcast through official QB Club channels.
Any QB Club NFT purchased and activated prior to the completion of Round One will be included in the Round One competition.
NFTs acquired after Round One concludes will not be eligible for Season Zero participation.
5. Scoring
Performance is determined using the official QB Club fantasy scoring system, which includes passing and rushing statistics recorded during the simulated game.
The final score recorded at the end of each game represents the NFT’s official Season Zero Round One result.
6. Advancement to the Final Eight
Following completion of all Round One games, quarterbacks will be ranked by their total score.
The eight highest scoring quarterbacks advance to the tournament stage.
These quarterbacks will be seeded #1 through #8 according to their Round One performance.
7. Tie-Breakers
If two or more quarterbacks are tied in score during Round One, the following tie-breaking procedure will be used in order:
- Passing touchdowns
- Total yards
- Completion percentage
- Coin flip (performed live if necessary)
Tie-breakers will only be used to determine advancement and seeding.
8. Final Eight Tournament
The top eight quarterbacks advance to a single-elimination tournament consisting of:
Quarterfinals
Semifinals
Championship
Bracket seeding is determined by Round One results.
Matchups follow the standard tournament structure:
#1 vs #8
#2 vs #7
#3 vs #6
#4 vs #5
Winners advance until one champion remains.
8.1 Team Duplication Adjustment
In certain circumstances, two quarterbacks advancing to the Final Eight may originate from the same NFL team roster (for example, a starting quarterback and a backup quarterback from the same franchise).
Because the simulation engine assigns one active quarterback per team, the following procedure will be used to maintain competitive integrity.
If two advancing quarterbacks are assigned to the same team, one of the quarterbacks will be reassigned to a different NFL team for the purposes of the simulation.
The reassignment will follow these guidelines:
- The replacement team must not already be represented by another advancing QB Club NFT in the tournament.
- If multiple eligible teams are available, the replacement team will be selected randomly prior to the game simulation.
- The reassigned quarterback will retain that team for the duration of the matchup.
This adjustment is used solely to allow both NFTs to compete in the same matchup and does not alter the underlying identity or ownership of the NFT.
All reassignment decisions will be announced during the broadcast prior to the simulation.
9. Winner NFTs
Season Zero will produce a series of NFTs representing advancement the tournament.
These NFTs are separate from the original QB NFTs and serve as recognition of competitive performance. They will be among the initial NFTsin the next iteration of QB CLub NFT minting.
Winner levels include:
Level 1 — Final Eight
Awarded to the eight quarterbacks advancing to the tournament.
Level 2 — Final Four
Awarded to quarterbacks advancing from the quarterfinal round.
Level 3 — Championship Finalists
Awarded to the two quarterbacks competing in the championship game.
Season Zero Champion NFT
Awarded to the overall winner of the tournament.
Winner NFTs serve as early distribution assets connected to future QB Club ecosystem expansions, including the RB Club and the WR/TE Club collections.
10. Broadcast and Transparency
All games will be conducted via livestream or recorded simulation.
Scores and results will be publicly documented.
The QB Club reserves the right to publish gameplay footage, results, standings, and commentary related to Season Zero competition.
11. Rule Adjustments
Season Zero represents a pilot season designed to test competitive mechanics and broadcast operations.
The QB Club reserves the right to make reasonable procedural adjustments if necessary to maintain fairness, technical integrity, or broadcast continuity.
Any changes will be publicly disclosed.
12. Spirit of the Competition
Season Zero is intended to reward early participants, test the competitive format, and establish the foundation for future QB Club seasons.
Participants are encouraged to enjoy the competition and help shape the future of The QB Club ecosystem.
13. Simulation Settings
Season Zero games will be conducted using standardized simulation settings designed to maintain fairness, consistency, and broadcast continuity.
To reduce randomness and avoid disruptions during livestream play:
- Injuries will be disabled for all simulations.
- Penalties will be reduced from default levels.
These adjustments are intended to minimize unpredictable interruptions and ensure that outcomes are primarily determined by quarterback performance.
All simulations will otherwise use consistent gameplay settings across all Season Zero matchups.
14. Technical Interruptions and Game Restarts
Because Season Zero simulations are conducted live using broadcast technology, technical interruptions may occasionally occur.
These interruptions may include, but are not limited to:
- Livestream disruption
- Xbox or game software instability
- Capture card or broadcast interruption
- Network failure
If a disruption occurs, the following procedure will apply:
- The QB Club will first attempt to recover and resume the simulation from the existing game state.
- If recovery is not possible, the game will be fully restarted regardless of when the interruption occurred.
A restart may occur at any point in the game, including late-game situations.
This policy ensures consistency across all matchups and prevents partial or corrupted game states from affecting competition outcomes.
15. Administrative Authority
The QB Club administration retains final authority over all Season Zero competition procedures.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Simulation settings
- Technical restart decisions
- Team reassignment procedures
- Broadcast logistics
- Interpretation of competition rules
All decisions made by The QB Club administration are final.
One block at a time, we keep the chains moving.
